Immigration Policies for International Students

Malaysia has a number of policies with regard to the entry of international students enrolled in institutions of higher learning in the country.

Please adhere strictly to the requirements to minimise delay or other problems that may arise. A passport or travel document with minimum six-month's validity is required to enter the country.

You need to obtain an approval letter from the Malaysian Immigration Department prior to enter into the country which will be applied by the college. The students will be received by the college representatives at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and help with the other procedings regarding the stamping of the student pass.

Note : Please bear in mind that foreign students are not allowed to work in Malaysia during their course of study. The country also imposes certain exchange controls. This means Malaysian currency is not allowed into the country. You are advised to bring in your country's currency and exchange into Malaysian currency or use Traveller's Cheques. The amount of currency being brought into the country is to be declared at the airport.
